Cinema 4D for Illustrators and Designers

These projects were made in the Digital Prototyping course I taught at Pratt in the Spring of 2023. This course is offered within the Communications Design department and presented challenges I wasn't used to in previous courses, namely, that the students within this department are a mix of graphic designers as well as illustrators. In order to create an assignment that would have constructive aims for both sets of students, while also teaching skills in Cinema 4D in 5 weeks, I created an open-ended assignment that provided opportunities for the illustrators to incorporate their own original characters as well as for the designers to explore 3D text. The assignment still served as an appropriate starting place for students to learn basic skills in C4D, specifically modeling, textures and animating cameras in order to navigate through a scene.
