Video Production

Similar to my experiences teaching motion graphics, I've taught video production in a variety of contexts and from a variety of perspectives. For instance, the videos Hostile Architecture, Representing Humanity and Rules for the Night were projects that were made while I was teaching at SUNY Oneonta. The aim of Hostile Architecture was to depict a societal problem. Students were able to appropriate footage or use their own. The aim of Representing Humanity and Rules for the Night was to represent a person. Both students chose to represent themselves for this assignment.

The Montage Project came from an Avid certificate program I taught at the New York Film Academy in 2019. The aim of this assignment was to explore the use and history of montage in film, then the students created their own montage using Avid.

Lastly, the Mad Max ADR project emerged from a sound production class that I taught at CUNY – York in 2021. This was a collaborative assignment in which the entire class learned proper recording techniques. Then each student individually took the audio samples and recreated this scene from Mad Max Fury Road. All the voices are from the students themselves.
